Miles and Moments: The title of Katinka Bock’s contribution to the Lyon Biennale 2011 is an agenda. \u00abMiles\u00bb references the spatial, \u00abMoments\u00bb the temporal dimension. Together they form the basis for the work of the artist, who was born in Frankfurt in 1976 and now lives in Paris and Berlin. In her preoccupation with space and time, she refers to the art traditions of the Sixties; at the same time, she reconsiders questions of contextual art, expanding this into an unmistakable sculptural form fraught with sensuality. In recent years, Katinka Bock’s work has appeared repeatedly in international group exhibitions. The exhibition at the Kunst Museum Winterthur is her first comprehensive solo show in Switzerland; afterwards it will be presented in the Mus\u00e9e d’Art Moderne Grand-Duc Jean in Luxembourg and in the Institut d’art contemporain in Villeurbanne.<\/p>\n
