Every year the Werkschaux exhibition of the canton of Zurich provides a multifaceted look at what artists are currently producing in Zurich. Twenty-four artists are presented from the canton of Zurich, who are nominated for one of twelve grants of 24,000 Swiss francs each. 

The exhibition, which was conceived and implemented by the Department of Culture, has been hosted by the Kunst Museum Winterthur since 2025.

Once a year, the grants in visual art are awarded by a jury in a two-step process, both in recognition of work already accomplished and immediate, effective support: Grants from the Department of Culture provide support to artists residing in the canton of Zurich to further develop their art, enabling them to pursue their artistic work for a certain amount of time without financial pressure. The exhibition in the museum also offers them a prominent platform for reaching a broad public and specialized audience.

The Kunst Museum Winterthur is pleased to again host the Werkschau exhibition of the canton of Zurich and to participate in presenting the vibrant art scene in and around Zurich.
